In 2011, Bickmore, the nation’s largest independent actuarial and risk management consulting firm, acquired Rick Sherman & Associates (RSA) and increased expertise, staffing, and clients for the firm’s actuarial services. The acquisition added more depth in additional service areas including risk management consulting, claims consulting, risk control and risk management information systems (RMIS) consulting.
RSA has provided casualty actuarial consulting services since 1991 with experience in all property casualty lines, including workers' compensation, general, professional, and automobile liability, property, and reinsurance.
RSA founder Rick Sherman is one of the most extensively published and well-known casualty actuaries in the nation. He is recognized for his experience in the evaluation of loss reserves and for being the co-author of the CAS paper "Loss Reserve Adequacy Testing: A Comprehensive, Systematic Approach," which has been on the Casualty Actuarial Society's testing syllabus for 30 years. Mr. Sherman's clients have included 28 of the nation's 100 largest insurers.
Rick Sherman and his staff maintain offices in Ashland, Oregon where they specialize in working with self-insured groups, public entities, and insurance companies on the West Coast.
As it serves a growing roster of clients in 37 states, Bickmore’s 30 year history of client service excellence continues with the acquisition of RSA.
